Bill Melendez Dies
September 9, 2008
As many people know, Charles M Schulz was the creator Peanuts, and more specifically, the great Charlie Brown. Apart from Schulz, Bill Melendez was the only other person who was allow [by Schulz] to animate his work, which he did for a variety of TV shows and films. Sadly, Bill Melendez died aged 91. I love Charlie Brown, it’s always good to watch over breakfast. I’m still trying to figure out why they’ve never released any boxed sets of those great cartoons… BAH! My favourite film was the Christmas one in which Charlie Brown goes out to get a tree and returns with the saddest little tree of all.

Ahh good ol’ Charlie Brown! Beyond the fact it’s a cartoon, some of the behaviour of Charlie and others can be quite real and human – poor Charlie Brown….living in a world he doesn’t quite fit in….or more accurately a world that doesn’t quite fit him.
I am sure many people have identified with this beacon of patheticness (in the pitiable sense not abusive)
